The Mission

Preserve What the Church Has Sung for Centuries

Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony, and the great organ tradition are not period preferences — they are the living patrimony of the Roman Rite. Trained musicians are leaving the ministry because compensation cannot sustain them. Small parishes abandon the proper propers because no infrastructure exists to support them. Cantori exists to solve both. Your gift makes that work possible.

"The talent that once served our liturgies now serves restaurants and software firms, not because it wanted to, but because no one built the infrastructure to sustain it."

Cantori Founding Principle

What your gift enables

The infrastructure of reverence

Every dollar goes toward something that matters to the tradition itself — not overhead, not marketing, not growth for its own sake.

Musician Support

Scholarships for trained cantors and organists

Cantori's free musician tier is subsidized by platform revenue. Your gift extends that subsidy — enabling parishes who cannot pay market rate to still attract musicians who can sustain reverent liturgy. A trained cantor who stays in ministry for five more years is worth more than a marketing campaign.

Parish Access

Subsidized subscriptions for small and rural parishes

The parishes that need Cantori most are the ones that cannot afford it. Donations fund a subsidy pool that keeps the platform accessible to communities in Appalachia, the inner city, and mission territories — where the old chant tradition is most alive and most at risk.

Score Library

Expanding the liturgical music archive

Directors need access to the full repertoire — Introits, Graduals, Alleluias, Tracts, and the proper chants for every feast. Donations fund the licensing, digitization, and editor-review of scores that exist nowhere else in digital form. This is preservation as much as it is product development.

The Kyriale Project

Complete digitization of the Kyriale Romanum

The Kyriale Romanum — the standard chant collection for the Roman Mass, codified over centuries and used in every Rite of the Roman Church — has never been fully digitized with modern musical typesetting and accurate source-critical notation. That work is long overdue. It is what Cantori is building toward.

Why your gift matters now

The window is narrowing

Trained musicians leave

The financial case for professional liturgical music is broken. Musicians with graduate degrees in voice, organ, and composition accept ministry salaries that cannot sustain them. The ones who stay are the ones who can afford to — which means the Church loses the best. That erosion is not slow. It is accelerating.

Small parishes lose access

The professional infrastructure — booking systems, payment processing, repertoire databases — that works for other gig markets does not exist for sacred music. Parishes without a large budget fall back on whatever is easiest, not what is best. Cantori changes that equation. Your gift funds the infrastructure that makes reverent music available regardless of parish size.

The tradition needs a keeper

Who digitizes the Kyriale? Who builds liturgically-aware search for the Propers? Who ensures that the next generation of music directors can find trained cantors without using their personal network alone? This infrastructure does not build itself. It requires focused engineering work funded by people who care that the tradition survives.

Monthly Giving

A sustaining gift does more than a one-time donation

Recurring support funds ongoing development and parish subsidies — not just the product work, but the maintenance, the hosting, the coverage of costs that one-time gifts cannot address.

The tradition survives because people decided it would

Every generation that inherited sacred music made the same choice: to sustain it, to pass it on, to build the infrastructure that allows the next generation to sing it. That choice is yours to make now.
