Confidentiality & IP Protection
Cantori is original work. The platform, its tools, its algorithms, and the data entrusted to it by our community are protected — and this page explains exactly how.
Intellectual Property
Cantori is owned and operated by Cantus Firmus LLC. Every element of this platform — its design, codebase, business architecture, and proprietary tools — constitutes confidential intellectual property of Cantus Firmus LLC, protected under applicable copyright, trade secret, and intellectual property law.
This is not boilerplate. Cantori was conceived, designed, and built to serve a specific community with specific needs. The tools below represent years of domain expertise translated into software. We protect them accordingly.
User Obligations
All users — both directors and musicians — agree to the following when they access Cantori. These are not aspirational policies. They are binding conditions of platform access.
No reverse engineering. You may not attempt to reconstruct, copy, or replicate any Cantori feature, interface element, algorithm, or proprietary tool — in whole or in part.
No data scraping. Automated extraction of any platform content — musician listings, repertoire data, pricing structures, parish contacts, or any other data — for use in a competing or derivative product is prohibited.
No sharing with competitors. Confidential platform information — feature specifications, internal workflows, proprietary tools, or business processes — may not be disclosed to any competing service or third party building in this space.
No off-platform use of proprietary tools. Latin Diction AI, Practice Studio, Music Packet Builder, the Disbursement Engine, and any other Cantori-built tools are for use within the platform only. They may not be extracted, replicated, or redeployed independently.
Platform Data Protection
The data users create on Cantori — repertoire lists, musician contacts, financial records, parish relationships, booking histories — is confidential. It belongs to the community that created it, and it exists to serve them on this platform. That is its only purpose.
Never sold. User data will never be sold to third parties, data brokers, advertising networks, or any other commercial buyer. Full stop.
Never shared beyond operational necessity. Data is shared with external services only where strictly required to operate the platform — payment processing (Stripe) and transactional email (Postmark). No other sharing.
Repertoire and contact data stays private. A director's roster of trusted musicians and a musician's book of parish relationships are professional assets. They are visible only to the parties involved in a booking, and only as needed to complete it.
Financial records are confidential. Payment amounts, payout histories, and contract terms between directors and musicians are private to those parties. Cantori staff access financial records only to resolve disputes or meet legal obligations.
Enforcement
Cantori is a professional platform built on trust. Violations of the obligations outlined here undermine the community we are building and will be treated accordingly.
Violations may result in immediate account termination without refund and legal action under applicable intellectual property, trade secret, and computer fraud law. Cantus Firmus LLC reserves the right to pursue all available remedies, including injunctive relief and damages, against parties who breach these terms. If you believe a violation has occurred, contact us at the address below.
